Back off the accelerator. The Crusades ended a few centuries ago. I think if you put your reading glasses back on and re-read my last post, one of the things you will not read is my saying that, "... Jack can't play around the basket and that he's the next Luke Fabrizius". And the other thing you will not read in my last post is anything negative about Jack. (unless you consider me saying, "Jack is a prize" That is pretty nasty on my part. I'll wait until next year before I insult him by say he's a prize).
As for Davis (if he ends up coming, ((how do I keep degrading player's abilities like this?)) my statement of maybe he's the rebounder we need or maybe he's not; you're right, I'm being way too hard on him. I don't know what comes over me at times--wait, I'll hold off judging myself until next I see myself.
And please, please, please do me the favor of doing some homework. Please tell me how many offensive rebounds Datt has averaged per game this year--after all, you say "Datt is very good at grabbing offensive rebounds". Not fair, not ok, not pretty good-- very good. By the way (I shudder to express my opinion) I think Datt will improve as well (yes, another insult) So how long do we wait for him to add weight and become a better rebounder? Since we know he's going to do that, I guess my point of needing a rebounder is mute.
Is this a bit over the edge -- way over. But so was your response way out of line. If you're going to disagree, then do it, but don't go attributing things to me that didn't come from me.
Peace and love.
Ok I do not want to add fuel to the fire and I know I am not really involved in this debate but there is a right way to make your opinion felt and a wrong way. This was not the right way. This blog was intended for the civil exchange of ideas and opinions about everything Dukes sports and in my time posting here I personally have never seen steve post anything that was disrespectful towards another poster. Just putting that out there to start. Now to kind of calm this down. Steve never said that you specifically spluski said anything about playing around the basket or being the next Luke Fabrizius. But these thoughts have come out and I know I have heard them and I'm sure steve has too. I also noticed the part of your post where you said you didnt believe that rebounding was Jack's niche. That is a slight question of his ability. And all he has done in the district playoffs recently is put up double-doubles against quality teams. And if anyone wants a real reference see the Berks Catholic game against Constitution. Jack was matched up against Savon Goodman (#98 in ESPNs Top 100 recruits) and scored a nice 20 points and 8 rebounds while being double and triple teamed. I know rebounding changes in college but hes a kid from where I grew up so I really feel like everyone needs to really understand that he is doing historic things around here. And finally Datts rebounding numbers may not be fantastic I will grant that. You are completely right apluski. But neither is his playing time. When he has played and not gotten into foul trouble (which is his greatest area he needs to improve in) he has rebounded adequately recently and he has had TIMES where he has looked like a very good rebounder particularly on the offense glass. Temple for example he had a great game on the glass given his playing time and competition. I think he will also turn into a great rebounder with time. Over the next two years I feel like he could become a very good all around player.

Again, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But it needs to be presented in a more civil way. You can scream everything you just said apluski at the computer when typing but make sure it doesnt come out like that last post because this is not the place for that and I think everyone will agree. You do make some valid points but your passion seemed to stretch the meaning of steve's words a little too far. Reading what he posted, I do not personally sense an attack on anything you said. Just the civil exchange of opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but please do it respectfully.
