I think its ridiculous to talk about him being on any sort of a leash.

It would be if it weren't rumored to be true. I heard from a number of sources that the athletic department wasn't happy with him after this season. Don't get me wrong none of these sources were within the athletic department itself, but their has been buzz of a potential shake up. I'm not suggesting they are true, just that people are discussing it.

I think Ron will be given every opportunity to take the program to the next level, but if he can't do it, we need to move on. He was brought in to rebuild and he's accomplished that. I don't think anyone on this board or anywhere questions his ability to build. However, he needs to show me and the rest of the Duquesne community that he can elevate us rather than just sustain. To put it another way, just because Ron is the right man for A job, doesn't mean that he is the right man for ALL jobs.  In the past, he was promoted before he had the chance to make a long term impact on a program. We'll see what he can do here.

That being said barring an unexpected regression back into the putrid depths, Ron's tenure should already be considered an undeniable success. I will always look back at his tenure fondly as the guy who put us back on the map, and made all future success possible. Don't mistake this discussion as disrespect for Ron, I have tons of it. However, he needs to show me what he can do next.
