E-mail to season ticket holders:
We have received a number of e-mails and phone calls inquiring about the Duquesne Athletic Fund cookouts traditionally held each summer. We know that many of you look forward to these opportunities to meet the coaches and mingle with fellow fans. This year, instead of the cookouts, we are planning two special events celebrating major improvements to our facilities. As you may know, work is underway on the new Keller Field House at Rooney Field and the James & Janice Schaming Athletic Center at the A.J. Palumbo Center. When the new seasons begin, our student-athletes will enjoy newly-renovated locker rooms and lounges at our two premiere venues. In appreciation for the support of alumni and friends, we are planning two special events. On Saturday, August 13, we will hold a dinner on the 50 yard line of Rooney Field as part of the dedication of the Keller Field House. Then, on Saturday, October 8, we will again gather at center court of the Palumbo Center for dinner and dedication of the James & Janice Schaming Athletic Center. Both events will include the updates on the teams, recruits and schedules normally associated with the cookouts, along with the chance to be among the first to view our new facilities.Invitations with full details will follow, but we encourage you to mark your calendars now.If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I will look forward to seeing you soon.
I'm cool with moving events on-campus to show some new stuff, though the cookouts were a nice regional thing.
